Wood is looking for a Technical Safety Engineer with proven experience in chairing HAZID and HAZOP to join its Projects – Process and Chemical Team.

The Role
The successful candidate will take responsibility for managing Technical Safety aspects, studies, and workshops in a wide range of Projects (Refinery, Petrochemical, Pharma, etc.) under coordination of the Technical Safety Department Manager.
The position will be based in Corsico (Milan) office, with the possibility to work from home up to two days per week and with the possibility of short trips abroad, to lead / participate to HAZOPs and / or safety reviews at Client premises.

The key objectives for this role are:
- Firstly support senior colleagues in coordination of THSE matters in Basic / FEED / EPC contracts, interfacing with colleagues in different working area and with Clients and acquire capabilities to be Focal Point coordinator of THSE aspects in Wood projects
- Helping senior colleagues in project HSE Compliance in the design phase and overall project Technical HSE performances
- Interfaces with HSE specialized external Consultants (permitting, specific studies, etc)
- Increase Experience in the THSE profession and Risk Assessment
- Increase Experience in Loss Prevention

Expected:
- First, and preferably, further degree level qualifications covering Engineering, Process / Design Safety or Environmental disciplines
- Experience in chairing HAZID / HAZOP workshop SIL Allocation / LOPA studies
- Experience in HSE aspects in engineering design (safety distances, ergonomics, fire & gas, etc)
- Knowledge of CE marking according to European Safety Directives
- Ability in team-working
- Multi-tasking approach
- Availability for business trips
- TUV (or equivalent) Functional Safety certification will be appreciated
- Fluent English and Italian
