Kōrero mō te tūranga - About the role

Te Herenga Waka - Victoria University of Wellington is currently recruiting a permanent, full-time Manu Tāiko - Associate Director, Reporting and Institutional Analysis to join the Strategy and Reporting team. 

The role will be responsible for:

  • Ensuring the university is compliant with government policy and funding requirements.
  • Planning and institutional information and reporting.
  • Overseeing strategic analyses.
  • Leading the enterprise data warehouse team and its programme of work.

Key Requirements:

  • Detailed knowledge of the New Zealand university system, current tertiary reforms and an appreciation of the challenges universities face.
  • Proven ability to lead complex projects and direct the activities of staff involved in projects.
  • Ability to gather, validate and interpret data from a wide variety of sources.
  • Ability to develop processes and procedures to ensure quality of the data.
  • Ability to write clearly and communicate ideas concisely in varying situations and formats.
  • Excellent attention to detail, organisational and planning skills.
  • Confidence and ability to ensure that management staff deliver on accountability requirements as requested.
  • Ability to organize and present complex and detailed information to varied audiences.
  • Team orientation – comfortable with a collective approach and the ability to relate to people of a wide range of ages and ethnicities.
  • Ability to manage the work of others as well as your own.
  • Ability to work independently and problem solve.
  • Ability to regularly work independently utilising discretion and independent judgment over matters of significance in a fast paced environment and possess the reasoning, critical thinking, and interpersonal skills necessary to work with teams of various university constituents. An exceptionally high degree of responsibility, creativity and latitude is required.
