Position Description:

Develops software in the financial industry, preferably asset management to support and enhance the investment process. Implements solutions using Python, Angular and Excel VBA. Delivers time-to-market solutions with rapid application development techniques. Collaborate with the team in analyzing problems, recommending and prototyping solutions, and contributing to the delivery of robust, scalable solutions. Participates in the implementation of research project through the entire software development lifecycle utilizing a full-stack development implementation. Assists research teams in developing new products that will provide an advantage to the organization in the marketplace. Provides business solutions by developing complex software applications. 

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Develops original and creative technical solutions to on-going development efforts.  
  • Designs applications or subsystems on major projects and for/in multiple platforms.  
  • Develops applications for multiple projects supporting several divisional initiatives.  
  • Supports and performs all phases of testing leading to implementation. 
  • Assists in the planning and conducting of user acceptance testing. 
  • Develops comprehensive documentation for multiple applications supporting several corporate initiatives.  
  • Responsible for post-installation testing of any problems. 
  • Establishes project plans for projects of moderate scope. 
  • Works on complex assignments and often multiple phases of a project. 
  • Performs independent and complex technical and functional analysis for multiple projects supporting several initiatives. 

Education And Experience:

Bachelor’s degree (or foreign education equivalent) in Applied Business Analytics, Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, Mathematics, or a closely related field and three (3) years of experience as a Senior Software Engineer/Developer (or closely related occupation) developing, testing, and maintaining Fixed Income applications within a distributed environment. 

Or, alternatively, Master’s degree (or foreign education equivalent) in Applied Business Analytics, Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, Mathematics, or a closely related field and one (1) year of experience as a Senior Software Engineer/Developer (or closely related occupation) developing, testing, and maintaining Fixed Income applications within a distributed environment. 

Skills And Knowledge:

Candidate Must Also Possess:

  • Demonstrated Expertise (“DE”) utilizing Stable Value asset management to calculate risk metrics; processing financial data using Snowflake and developing Oracle SQL stored procedures and database objects — tables, indexes, sequences, views, and synonyms; designing financial applications in Angular framework, Highcharts, AG Grid and Python RESTful web services; and utilizing Bloomberg developer console APIs to connect trading activities with open market. 
  • DE developing oversight and monitoring tools in Python to analyze fixed income taxable credit investment market risk metrics and support asset management process; and designing investment tools to assist investment professionals in overviewing market opportunities, fund positioning, cash management, performance attributions, and risk management. 
  • DE using Exchange Trade Fund market trading strategies and using Python to build and enhance trading operation process in basket management, risk supervising and Market Maker/Authorized Participant ordering process. 
  • DE developing AI enhanced High Yield and Equity fundamental research tool by implementing Azure OpenAI models, including researching and summarizing High Income and Equity investment thesis by applying GEN AI models; and developing dashboard by deploying Bloomberg Query Language queries and designing Flask calls.
