Description
We are seeking a Sr. Network Engineer to support a law enforcement customer in Washington, DC. In this role you will be expected to provide onsite support 3 days per week in Washington, DC. Candidates must be willing and able to pass a federal background check to support the program. This position is contingent on contract award, and in this role you will:
- Provide technical leadership on major network tasks or technology assignments and establish goals and plans that meet project objectives.
- Direct and control activities, having overall responsibility for financial management, methods, and staffing to ensure that all network technical requirements are met.
- Plan, design, and implement physical and logical wide-area networks (WAN), local-area networks (LAN), communications, and infrastructure across the client enterprise.
- Work with client staff to identify voice/data/video communications requirements. Perform system level assessments of communications systems.
- Research and evaluate network technologies, protocols, and applications for application to the client environment.
- Support the customer mission through seamless, secure connectivity to all endpoints in the customer infrastructure.
- Plan, acquire, field, and operate network equipment and related technologies. Set up, maintain, and support the customer networks, firewalls, and Internet access tools
- Provide analysis of interoperability, implementation, and integration issues related to topology, deployment strategies, operations, and management. Use network design tools and techniques.
- Develop designs that support e-commerce and electronic data interchange (EDI) functions.
- Design and optimize network topologies and site configurations.
- Perform modeling and analysis at physical, data, control, and higher order protocol layers and develops/prototypes network/communications systems.
- Analyze network characteristics and recommend procurement, removals, and modifications to network components.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science/Engineering, Information Systems, Business, or other relevant discipline or related field.
- Minimum of 12-15 years’ experience in the related area as an individual contributor.
- Minimum of 3-5 years in a leadership role similar to this requirement.
- Base-level certification, such as A+, Security+, or Network+
- Core certification within their functional area, such as a CCNA, CCNP, CCIE
