Our Mechanical Design Engineers work closely with our Project Managers to create design and construction documents that meet the design intent, budget, and schedule of the client. As a Mechanical Design Engineer Intern, you’ll gain exposure to the day-to-day operations of the design disciplines in developing technical solutions. Additionally, you will work closely with the engineering team to assist in the design of the engineering systems and competition of construction documents.
The hourly range for this role is $20 - $25. The hourly rate may vary within the range based on factors such as location of the role, and a candidate’s experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities.
Example Tasks And Responsibilities:
- Survey and investigation of existing facilities
- Model building engineering systems using Revit modeling software
- Perform engineering calculations and analysis to design and layout systems
- Prepare and issue construction documents
- Assist with ongoing maintenance of engineering and modeling standards
- Collaborate with other disciplines for coordination of all building systems
- Perform construction observations and other construction administration duties
Exact tasks and responsibilities will vary based on team workload, project needs and interest/aptitude of the intern.
Qualifications:
Required
- Currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in engineering or technology from an accredited program.
- Completed the first 2 years in the engineering or technology program.
- Strong interest in design and/or construction of building engineering systems.
Desired
- Cumulative GPA of 3.0
- Experience with Autodesk Revit modeling software (or similar 3D modeling tools)
- Prior experience with building design and/or construction.
