Job Description

The IT Technical Manager oversees IT projects from conception to completion, ensuring efficient execution, timely delivery, adherence to budget, and alignment with organizational quality standards. This role requires coordination with stakeholders, project team management, and aligning IT strategies with business goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Planning: Collaborating with upper management to develop and implement an IT strategy that supports the organization's objectives. This includes forecasting future technology needs, budgeting for IT expenditures, and identifying opportunities for innovation and improvement.
  • Team Leadership and Management: Build, mentor, and manage a team of IT professionals by hiring, training, conducting performance reviews, and fostering a collaborative, high-performing work environment.
  • Project Management: Overseeing the entire lifecycle of IT projects, from conception and planning to execution, monitoring, and completion. This requires strong organizational skills to manage timelines, resources, and budgets effectively.
  • System and Infrastructure Management: Ensuring the reliability, security, and scalability of the company's IT infrastructure. This includes managing networks, servers, databases, and other critical systems.
  • Vendor and Stakeholder Management: Liaise with technology vendors for hardware and software procurement, and communicate technical concepts and project updates effectively to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Security and Compliance: Implementing and maintaining robust cybersecurity protocols to protect the organization's data and systems. This also involves ensuring compliance with relevant industry regulations.
  • Technical Support and Troubleshooting: Acting as a final escalation point for complex technical issues and providing guidance to the support team to ensure the timely resolution of problems.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Information Technology, Information Systems, or Software Engineering
  • Thorough understanding of project management fundamentals. PMP certification is desirable
  • 10+ years of overall experience
  • 5+ years of IT project management experience
  • 2 - 3 B2B / B2C IT project implementation experience for Software development projects
  • Excellent communication skills, including written, verbal, and presentation skills, and the ability to communicate technical information to non-technical people clearly and concisely
  • Proven Competencies in Risk Assessment/Management, Time Management, Conflict Management, Leadership, and Communications.
  • Able to work independently with minimal supervision while effectively managing a global team. Detail-oriented with a strong commitment to excellence, accountability, ownership, responsiveness, customer service focus, and a continual improvement mindset.
  • Ability to work a flexible Hybrid work schedule.
  • Cloud Computing: Expertise in cloud platforms, particularly with Microsoft Azure, is crucial as more businesses migrate their infrastructure to the cloud.
  • Technical Leadership & Architecture: Define the technical roadmap and architecture for projects, making key decisions on software design, coding standards, and frameworks to ensure scalable, secure, and maintainable solutions. Serve as the primary resource for complex technical challenges.
  • Tech Stack & Frameworks: Demonstrate expert-level proficiency in C# / or Java and extensive experience with modern .NET frameworks, particularly .NET Core and ASP.NET Core, for developing high-performance web APIs.
  • Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC): Proven expertise with methodologies such as Agile and DevOps is essential for overseeing software development projects and ensuring efficient delivery.
