Job Description

• Provide academic leadership and applied expertise in research on plastic waste utilization in asphalt pavement, bridging laboratory-scale experiments with field-scale pilot projects.
• Develop research strategies aligned with national priorities (e.g., sustainable infrastructure, circular economy) and international standards, while securing funding through competitive grants, government collaborations, and industry partnerships.
• Design, implement, and evaluate pilot-scale road projects to validate laboratory findings, ensuring quality and compliance with regulatory standards, and engage with vendors, contractors, and government stakeholders to establish technical specifications and oversee quality assurance.
• Supervise and mentor technical engineers and students in research design, data analysis, and reporting; produce high-quality research publications, technical reports, and policy briefs; and represent the Center in conferences, symposia, and professional networks.
• Develop and provide relevant workshop, course training, and lectures for students in Sampoerna University.

Qualifications

• Master or PhD in Civil Engineering, Materials Science, Environmental Engineering, or a related field with specialization in asphalt, polymers, or sustainable materials.
• Minimum 3–5 years of postdoctoral or equivalent research experience, ideally combining academic and applied project leadership.
• Strong record of peer-reviewed publications and/or technical reports in relevant areas.
• Proven experience in securing funding or managing grant-supported projects.
• Knowledge of pavement design, asphalt standards (e.g., Bina Marga, AASHTO, ASTM), and laboratory testing methods (e.g., Marshall, Superpave).
• Demonstrated ability to manage projects involving multiple stakeholders.
• Excellent leadership, mentoring, and communication skills.
• Proficient in English, both spoken and written; international collaboration experience is desirable.
