Role Overview

Coupang is looking for a driven, customer obsessed, and creative candidate to help us drive our fastest growing brands and acquire new vendors/sellers.

The Merchant Manager will be primarily responsible for 1) onboarding new sellers, 2) expanding selection for existing brands, 3) support sellers to drive growth and improve customer experience.

What You Will Do

• Lead new seller onboarding, ensuring a smooth transition and understanding of seller portal tools, policies, and best practices.
• Coordinate across cross-functional teams, and communicate with internal and external parties, while meeting tight deadlines.
• Resolve merchant challenges, collaborating with internal teams such as Seller Support and Operations.
• Build collaborative relationships with internal teams and vendor partners
• Manage multiple projects while maintaining high operational standards
• Manage new and existing sellers- manage day-to-day relationships and consistently work to expand our selection.

Basic Qualifications

This candidate should have previous experience in buying/vendor management or new business development as well as a background in retail or ecommerce. They must be able to work in a highly demanding but collegial environment where teamwork is a must. The right candidate will be a self-starter, able to work with minimal direction, be flexible, action and results oriented.

• 2+ years of experience in buying, product management, vendor management, retail, e-commerce
• Understanding of eCommerce and marketplace dynamics.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Analytical mindset with experience using data tools
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.

Preferred Qualifications

• Relevant experience in retail, operations or e-commerce.
• Proven experience supporting cross-functional projects
• Ability to work with ambiguous problems.
• Proven ability to manage multiple accounts and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong communication skills - speaking, writing, presenting and negotiating
• A willingness to roll up sleeves to get things done

Pay & Benefits:

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. At Coupang, your base pay is one part of your total compensation.The base pay for this position ranges from $72,000/year in our lowest geographic market to $133,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on several factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
