As an Electrical Commissioning Technician with LotusWorks, you will be based at a leading-edge semiconductor facility in Malta, New York, where you'll support the safe and accurate commissioning of complex electrical systems. In this role, you’ll review design documentation, inspect installations, perform testing, and verify system readiness in line with industry codes and client specifications. You’ll work closely with construction, EHS, and engineering teams to ensure that all electrical work meets the highest standards of quality, safety, and performance.

Responsibilities:

  • Review construction documents, IFC drawings, schematics, specifications, and equipment submittals to ensure design intent and compliance.
  • Maintain project-specific Electrical QA/QC plans per client specs, IEC/IEEE standards, NFPA 70 (NEC), and local code requirements.
  • Perform field inspections of electrical systems including LV substations, distribution boards, panelboards, transformers, lighting, VFDs, and general power systems.
  • Oversee field testing: insulation resistance, continuity, hipot, torque verification, and ground system checks.
  • Ensure calibration and certification records for all testing tools are current.
  • Track and close Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) and Site Punchlist Reports (SPRs); implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
  • Conduct system verification walks and prepare for energization/commissioning while ensuring adherence to design and code.
  • Participate in and document OAT and FAT processes, issuing Green Tag certifications upon successful completion.
  • Generate test reports, turnover packages, and documentation for Green Tag/Blue Tag certification processes.
  • Maintain accurate commissioning records using platforms like CxAlloy and Smartsheet; track and resolve deficiencies.
  • Collaborate daily with construction, commissioning, and EHS teams to ensure safe and aligned project delivery.
  • Attend and contribute to weekly coordination meetings to support scheduling and milestone adherence.
  • Support system training and handover to facility operations teams.
  • Any other duties or responsibilities that may be assigned to you in your role.

Skills Required:

  • 1–3 years of electrical commissioning experience, preferably in the Semiconductor or Mission Critical
  • Strong understanding of low voltage systems (up to 1000V).
  • Familiarity with construction documents and QA/QC processes.
  • Hands-on experience with testing methods: insulation resistance, continuity, torque verification, etc.
  • Proficient with documentation software such as CxAlloy and Smartsheet.
  • Ability to coordinate with multiple project stakeholders and adapt in fast-paced environments.

Education / Licenses / Certifications

  • Electrical Engineering degree or Journeyman’s license preferred, but not required.
  • OSHA10.
  • Proof of education, licenses, and certifications will be required where applicable.

The pay range shown reflects the minimum and maximum hourly rates the company may offer for this position. The final rate will depend on factors such as skills, experience, and qualifications.
