Why This Role Matters

As the Governance Risk and Compliance Specialist within our Vanuatu-licensed entity, you will act as the regulatory technology representative, ensuring oversight of outsourced IT and cybersecurity services and alignment with VFSC requirements. You will serve as the local point of accountability, maintaining documentation, monitoring provider performance, and safeguarding compliance through effective reporting, audits, and regulatory engagement.

What You'Ll Actually Do

• Serve as the official technology contact for VFSC and other authorities, ensuring compliance with the Virtual Asset Service Provider Act.
• Ensure the company maintains required IT and security documents (BCP, DRP, cybersecurity and IT policies)
• Maintain comprehensive records of IT and security reports, outsourcing agreements, and regulatory filings in accordance with VFSC guidelines.
• Report significant cybersecurity incidents promptly to the VFSC as per the regulatory requirements
• Conduct regular internal audits and ensure that independent inspections/audits of the technological infrastructure can be carried out to verify compliance with VFSC requirements.

Who We’Re Looking For

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
• Professional certifications (optional but advantageous): CISM, CISA, ISO 27001 Lead Implementer/Auditor, or equivalent.
• At least 1–3 years of professional experience in IT, cybersecurity, or compliance oversight.
• Experience in the work of a virtual asset service provider, fintech.
• Understanding of blockchain systems, digital asset custody, digital currency (wallets, smart contracts, stable coins) and cybersecurity fundamentals.
• Familiarity with outsourcing oversight, SLA/KPI monitoring, and regulatory compliance frameworks.
• Ability to review and interpret IT audit and security reports prepared by third parties.
• Fluent in English language (verbal & written), any additional language may be considered a plus
• Strong accountability and ownership mindset. 
• Excellent communication (verbal and non-verbal), business acumen, organisational, presentation and problem-solving skills. 
• Integrity and discretion in handling sensitive information
• Able to work effectively under pressure and meet tight deadlines
• Able to work on own initiative, independently, prioritize workload and pay attention to details.
