Job Summary And Description

An IE Capacity engineer is within the Industrial Engineering (IE) Planning Team and is responsible for area capacity, capital, and space planning, to analyze and optimize the strategic plan for all OMT products.

Additional responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Communication/Collaboration

  • Collaborates with various teams across the organization and adjusts communication styles accordingly
  • Works with IE Modeling regarding model changes and Layout team to optimize Area space
  • Partners closely with the Satellite / ADT / Process engineer / hardware engineer /Central Planning / HVM Planning / Layout /, Procurement / Facilities and down stream teams to keep updated on strategic area plans, priorities, and projects

Project Management/Planning

  • Designs and coordinates projects with several different departments
  • Builds timelines with achievements for sophisticated tasks and projects and adjusts plans based on execution

Technical/Data Analysis

  • Uses IE concepts in a variety of applications
  • Evaluates what-if scenarios representing changes to capacity metrics and partners with engineering to understand the impact of the changes
  • Drives action through effective data and clear communication

Safety

  • Finishes the required safety training and conducts all work in accordance with Micron safety policies
  • Follows all safety procedures to ensure compliance

Successful Candidates Must Have The Following Qualifications:

  • Excellent multi-tasking, time-management, project management, organization and prioritization skills
  • Proven track record in building and maintaining effective relationships
  • Validated ability to communicate sophisticated analysis in a succinct, clear, and useful manner
  • Demonstrated critical thinking skills, effective written and verbal communication skills, and ability to prioritize responsibilities and handle several tasks
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Office Outlook, Excel and Power Point
  • Self motivation to continuously learn as well as identify, develop, propose, and implement effective plans to improve overall efficiency
  • Demonstrated analytical problem solving skills with ability to address root causes
  • Advanced data extraction, analysis, and reporting skills
  • Advanced understanding of statistics and manufacturing science
  • Demonstrated skill at prioritizing area projects for engineering and production based on capacity and cycle time needs
  • Preferred skills in computer science (SQL, python, etc) and data management techniques
  • Experience or knowledge of data collection, warehousing systems, and data cleansing would be beneficial

Education And Experience

  • Minimum: BS in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Production Operations Management (POM), equivalent degree, or relevant experience
