In our Miamisburg, Ohio location, our teams work to produce an extensive line of stock and custom labels, tickets and tags, printers and other related products for some of the largest organizations in logistics, food and retail.

We are looking to add members to our 2nd shift Turret Slitter Machine Operator Team! In this role, you will have the opportunity to learn or hone skills specializing in the use of a variety of slitting, tubing, and turret machines, including single/dual tooling die cutting slitters to slit a variety of standard and custom supply products.
You will learn to interpret order specifications and perform proficient and quality turret slitter set-ups and changeovers so that you can do this individually or as a member of a set-up team.
You would learn to perform turret slitter operations, including adjustments, troubleshooting, and corrective action, accessory installation, operator maintenance, and silicon lubrication of slitting knives.
In the course of your work, you would get to work and interact with a number of people like your teammates, your group leader, your manager and people from other departments like Quality and Warehouse.
During the course of your day, some of the things you'd be doing include:
- Reviewing customer order specifications and special instructions and ensuring all production materials are at the machine(s) prior to set-up and ensuring that there are adequate station supplies and materials for continuous operations including for the next shift.
- Performing complex turret slitter set-up and changeovers individually or as a part of a set-up team, making required adjustments to make sure set-up is done correctly, adjusting knives to make sure they adhere to specs and sets roll counter and approving your own set-up for a quality production run.
- Installing unwind shaft in supply roll or mounting supply roll on fixed air shaft, threading it through the machine and affixing it to the core with tape on cored supplies. On die-cutting slitters, you'd be removing waste roll from rewind machine, replacing core and connecting rewind matrix making appropriate tension adjustments as required.
- Reworking partial or sliced rolls of product.
- Producing case labels using appropriate labeling device and packing product per specifications; then removing finished material and placing it in its proper location (including placing packed cartons on skids, moving full carts to staging areas and retrieving carts and skids from Distribution.
- Assisting, training and supporting other team members in problem-solving and meeting department goals. Your input is important, so you'd also be continuously reviewing current processes and search out possibilities for improvement.
Qualifications
What You Need to Have to be Considered for the Role...
- Education and Experience: High school diploma or equivalent with at least two years of experience in a related field.
- Technical Skills: Proficient in PC applications, including Google, Excel, and Word. Knowledgeable in RFID, Inkjet, and Monarch thermal printer technologies.
- Physical Requirements: Able to stand for up to eight hours, lift and carry up to 50 pounds, and lift up to 30 pounds overhead. Requires good vision, including color, and strong eye-hand coordination.
- Aptitude: Possesses strong mechanical aptitude and proficiency in basic math, including decimals and percentages. Able to read shop scales, use overlay gauges, and other measurement tools.
- Soft Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills. A motivated, independent self-starter who can work with minimal supervision and follow instructions effectively.
- Other: Must be able to learn and apply ELS principles and techniques within 30 days of training.

Physical Requirements:
- Movement: May require the ability to stand/walk for up to 80% of your shift, with frequent pushing, pulling, bending, reaching, and squatting 50% of the time.
