The Job:

The EHS Manager will establish, direct, and maintain Environmental Compliance documentation policies and practices in keeping with all pertinent local, state, and federal regulation.  As an EHS Manager, you’ll work onsite in Sedalia, MO. You’ll get to:  

  • DOT and RCRA capable to train and implement necessary requirements.
  • Assure compliance with local Air, Water, and Haz-Waste requirements.
  • Develop and Maintain overall policy positions in Environmental Health and Safety matters.
  • Provide all assistance necessary to receive and maintain compliance with Title V air permitting.
  • Maintain sound practices to ensure regulatory compliance with all state and federal EPA guidelines and regulations.
  • Develop pro-active status to improve the probability of making “Zero” negative EHS impacts.
  • Provide technical guidance to the Plant Manager and Management Staff on EHS issues.
  • Maintain positive associate relations.
  • Manage the Specialist II in Ergonomics initiations at the plant level to minimize impact of muscular skeletal disorders.
  • Produce and submit all required Environmental Health and Safety reporting by the appropriate reporting deadlines.
  • Initiate and implement a complete environmental program.
  • Analyze and assist in associate problems requiring strong interpersonal skills.
  • Capable of responding to EHS emergency situations.
  • Working knowledge of all applicable government regulations to ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Develop a close working relationship with the facility’s medical and legal counsel in order to protect WI’s interests.
  • Work with the local Engineering, Maintenance and Paint, Staff plus IHQ representatives to ensure that all project planning includes any applicable and necessary EHS consideration.
  • Make a personal contribution to the business success of the Sedalia plant.

  • Hazwopper Certified
  • Wastewater treatment operators background Knowledge.
  • Bachelor’s degree in science or technical discipline.
  • Ability to work independently and efficiently.
  • Proficiency in Employee Database Management, Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint required.
  • Experience in managing federally enforceable environmental permits.
  • Ability to interact with personnel in delicate situations in order to protect the company’s interests.
  • Must have in-depth knowledge of first aid.
