Job Description

Ares is seeking an accomplished and driven Vice President of Portfolio Management to join its growing Logistics Real Estate platform. Based in either Amsterdam or London, with periodic travel between the two, this role will serve as a key member of the Portfolio Management function, responsible for optimizing asset performance, executing business plans, and driving value creation across European logistics portfolios.

The ideal candidate will bring deep sector expertise in logistics real estate, paired with strong financial acumen, a strategic mindset, and a disciplined, hands-on approach to Portfolio Management. This individual will serve as a critical link between investment teams, operating partners, capital markets, and senior leadership—ensuring that Portfolios are managed in alignment with fund strategy, investor objectives, and long-term value maximization.

Working closely with IR & Product, the candidate will be the principal point of contact for key existing LP relationships, including managing the relationships over the lifetime and maturity of the funds.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the end-to-end portfolio management of European logistics assets across multiple investment vehicles
• Oversee performance monitoring, business plan execution, and proactive asset-level value creation initiatives
• Co-ordinate and buy/hold/sell analyses for all Portfolio Assets
• Lead Portfolio Recapitalization and Monetization strategies
• Principal point of contact for existing LPs across income & co-investment fund series
• Responsible for Capital management strategies to ensure Portfolio Return Maximization
• Partner with investment teams during underwriting and acquisition to ensure alignment with portfolio objectives during capital deployment phases
• Lead or support refinancing, in conjunction with capital markets and finance teams.
• Monitor market trends, tenant dynamics, and macroeconomic developments affecting portfolio strategy.
• Support ESG integration and reporting across the logistics platform, including energy efficiency, emissions tracking, and sustainability benchmarks.
• Coordinate investor materials, performance dashboards, and fund-level presentations
• Maintain strong working relationships with JV partners, lenders, and key operating stakeholders.

Qualifications & Experience

• Minimum 8 years of relevant experience in real estate portfolio or asset management, with a focus on logistics or industrial assets.
• Strong analytical, financial modeling, and reporting skills with fluency in Excel and portfolio management tools.
• Experience managing cross-border assets and collaborating with operating partners across multiple jurisdictions.
• Deep understanding of capital structuring, financing, and real estate investment strategies.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to distill complex information into executive-level insights.
• Fluency in English; additional European languages are a plus.
• Bachelor’s degree required; MBA, CFA or similar qualification preferred.
