Job Details:
SUMMARY: This position is responsible for ensuring that all water leaving a Tyson wastewater treatment facility meets the requirements set by local state and federal governments and for ensuring the city or state is informed of all planned changes in processes. This position requires maintaining treatment systems, performing operational maintenance, and performing administrative duties including, but not limited to;
- Budgeting, staffing, ordering of supplies, staff scheduling and payroll.
- All aspects of the operation and maintenance of the wastewater treatment facility and providing a safe working environment by providing proper safety equipment, training, and tools for personnel.
- Collecting and analyzing operational control data to predict changes and improvements needed to accomplish objectives ensuring wastewater permit compliance.
- Oversight of scheduling, collecting, and testing wastewater samples for operational control and permit compliance.
- Sample data documentation and generating reports for the Tyson leadership team and government agencies.
- Aiding wastewater operators in preparing for, applying for, receiving, and maintaining their operator license.
- Oversee, troubleshoot, and maintain the operation of pre-treatment and/or full-treatment equipment and perform other environmental program responsibilities assigned by the Complex Environmental Manager including, but not limited to; stormwater permits, air permits, SPCC plans, hazardous waste, universal waste, and chemical management.
REQUIREMENTS: (It is highly recommended that you attach resume.)
Education beyond high school including special training, vocational school, and or college courses.
Experience: 3 plus years of environmental compliance experience; Grade III Wastewater license or the ability to obtain one within 1 year of employment preferred.
Computer Skills: Basic computer skills such as checking electronic mail, entering data into document templates or creating simple queries.
Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Supervisory: This position is responsible for supervising a group of personnel who perform somewhat identical and related tasks or activities.
Travel: 1 to 5 trips per year.
