We are seeking a talented individual to join our People Function at Marsh McLennan. This role will be based in Cluj Napoca, Romania.
This is a hybrid role that has a requirement of working at least three days a week in the office.
The People Partner provides forward-looking HR counsel for multiple business leaders at various levels and is likely to support between two and eight business leaders.
Reporting to the Senior People Partner, this role is responsible for supporting business leaders to develop the strategies and plans that will enable business goals to be delivered, as well as providing Operational HR support by managing and executing on workforce effectiveness and complex ER cases depending on resource requirements across the team.
The People Partner will collaborate with and leverage resources from our People Experience Centers of Excellence (COEs) and regional HR Managers, to deliver exceptional service to their clients at Marsh McLennan to implement initiatives across the full range of HR solutions. People Partners are expected to proactively look for opportunities to drive consistency and deploy enterprise-wide solutions within the business, while meeting local business needs.
As an advisor on people strategy, People Partner collects and synthesizes information to help diagnose talent issues and priorities and presents insights to business leaders to inform decision making and shape strategic plans.
We will count on you to:
- Immerse into business’ operations, staying abreast of business and workforce challenges, human capital needs, and people-related gaps in capabilities.
- Proactively engage with HR Managers to establish a strong partnership enabling smooth implementation of programs and solutions and global initiatives across the full range of HR solutions.
Career Development, Leadership Development, Internal Mobility, & Learning:
- Provide local business perspective to COE and other People Partners.
- Work with business leaders to assess bench strength and workforce capabilities.
- Oversee delivery of career development, leadership development, and learning content and programming, tracking program outputs and results for business leaders.
Workforce Planning, Succession Planning, Reward Strategy & Performance Management.
- Support the development of an action plan to achieve workforce plan (i.e. hiring, development, contingent contracting)
- Work with business leaders to understand current and future critical positions, diagnose succession needs and risks
- Facilitate the talent review and calibration process alongside leaders and other People Partners; Ensure results are leveraged as part of succession process
- Support with stakeholders on crafting and implementing robust development plans for colleagues to strengthen the leadership pipeline.
- Work with leaders on reward strategy and related initiatives within their business operations
- Manage complex ER cases as required
- Support stakeholders on competitive reward strategies to attract and retain the best talent
- Lead the annual year end process from end to end for the department they support.
- Review data and analytics to draw relevant insights for business leaders in partnership with COE; Ensure process results are reflected within the system; Consult with leaders on an ongoing basis to monitor results and adjust as needed
Organizational Effectiveness, Communications, and Change Management
- Work with leaders and other People Partners on organizational effectiveness issues and initiatives within their businesses supporting the business to develop business cases for change proposals
- Use metrics to measure results of organizational effectiveness interventions
- Manage, executive or support on restructuring projects partnering with other People Partners and HR Managers as appropriate
- Collaborate with Senior People Partner and Leaders on organizational effectiveness/design projects. This may also include supporting near/offshoring and other talent strategies to meet the department’s needs
- Advise on communications initiatives within business
Inclusion & Diversity
- Partner with leaders and Inclusion COE on various initiatives to enable and promote our vibrant and inclusive culture
Recruiting
- Collaborate with Talent Acquisition (TA) on optimal sourcing strategies for niche , strategic and / or senior roles
- Attend candidate interviews and advises on selection if required for strategic and / or senior roles
Employee Engagement and Culture
- Champion the Marsh McLennan Colleague Value Proposition within business-specific environments
- Consult leaders on culture and engagement issues and plans to address
- Establish action plans following engagement surveys based on results in partnership with other People Partners and leaders
- Champion enterprise culture within the Business by collaborating on change initiatives and being an ambassador for the HR policies, procedures and initiatives
What You Need To Have:
- Significant experience as a HR practitioner with exposure to strategic planning aspects of business partnering in additional to operational aspects of HR. Expected to operate without oversight in most cases
- Experience in developing plans to address talent/people related challenges or goals
- Demonstrated ability to coach and advise business leaders, able to challenge when necessary and promote an alternate perspective to enable robust evaluation of issues and options
- Have demonstrated experience in using data and various technologies to support leaders in making informed decisions
- Have the knowledge and experience operating within regulatory, statutory environments and markets
- Have excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Be a team player who is highly collaborative and responsive to clients and team’s needs
- Staying current with HR and industry market trends and openness to share knowledge and key experiences with colleagues and leaders
- Ability to travel to alternative MMC offices as and when required, sometimes at short notice to support the business
