Position Overview

Under general direction, assists in the administration and communication of TruGreen Leave of Absence programs.  Is the primary contact for leave of absence issues for internal associates and the third-party vendor.  Maintains leave records and prepares documents necessary for implementing leave coverage.  Also assists with the management of third-party leave administrators to ensure consistent and effective process delivery and issue resolution.  Performs data collection, analysis, and reporting in support of the plans and programs. Provides instruction, guidance and excellent customer service to employees, managers and human resources professionals regarding the various leave of absence policies, interactive dialog process, and return to work efforts.

Responsibilities

  • Provides necessary documentation to employees and field leaders and assists with the process.
  • Investigates and resolves questions regarding leave plans and makes independent judgment regarding final resolution.
  • Leads the effective administration of the leave of absence process and investigate issues between associates, managers and the vendor for process improvement and data accuracy.
  • Maintains records of problem issues and resolutions, coordinates communication of problem resolution to all involved parties including associate and manager.
  • Coordinates with administration service provider and all plan administrators on resolution of leave issues.  Attends related meetings.
  • Responsible for routine and ad hoc reporting and analysis as required.
  • Ensures all leave programs are appropriately administered and maintains compliance with applicable laws.
  • Reviews related compliance documentation and ensures effective implementation among the plans managed.
  • Provides customer service to associates and field leaders and ensures that inquiries and issues are resolved.
  • Provides follow-up which could include a Termination Letter to associates.
  • Monitors third-party vendor tracking of Intermittent Leave usage for accuracy.
  • Serves as internal contact for third-party vendor  for escalated issues.
  • Assists in the preparation and review of letters, training and other communication materials.
  • Coordinates Records Management.

  • Assists with other HR compliance responsibilities and may cross-train with related areas such as Background Screening and Human Resources as needed.

Education and Experience Requirements

  • High school diploma/GED required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • 5-7 years of experience in benefit administration or related field required, or an equivalent combination of education and experience; leave administration experience a plus.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Comprehensive knowledge of laws applicable to various types of leaves
  • Working knowledge of applicable federal laws and regulations:  HIPAA, FMLA, ADA, etc.
  • Understanding of standard benefit concepts and practices
  • Ability to research and interpret legal language
  • Familiarity and comfort with third-party systems
  • Attention to detail and analytical skills
  • Ability to operate independently and collaboratively within a team
  • Computer skills with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)

Pay Ranges

$54,983.00 - $91,638.00

This range is based on the qualifications necessary for the position, including experience, training, and other considerations permitted by law. Factors that may be used when making an offer may include a candidate’s skills, experience, and geographic location, the expected quality and quantity of work, and internal pay alignment, as needed. Most candidates will start in the bottom half of the pay range. The upper end of the range will generally be reserved for candidates with extensive experience. An employee’s pay history will not be a contributing factor where prohibited by local law. In addition to monetary compensation, we offer benefits, including Medical/Dental/Vision insurance and Company-matching 401(k) in addition to other programs and perks.
