Join LEGO Education as a Model Designer and create inspiring, hands-on models using LEGO® System and Technic. From concept to classroom, your designs will spark curiosity, unlock “aha!” moments, and help students explore science in brand-new ways.
We do not offer relocation for this role.
Core Responsibilities
- Design models for the LEGO® Education learning system, using the LEGO® System and LEGO® Technic build system
- Create a consistent aesthetic expression across models
- Responsible for securing the quality of the models including the technological components
- Responsible to produce building instructions, as well as user testing and surveys
- Play your part in our team succeeding
Our mission in the LEGO Education Model Design department is to supercharge learning, through models and a hands-on approach.
The Model Designer delivers models, from concept to final deliveries, with an end-to-end inclusion of other solutions and components based on briefings from the Model Design Manager, Concept Design Managers, Educators and Education specialists.
The Sr. Model Designer will be deeply imbedded in our new LEGO Education strategy. “The Future is in Their Hands” Our new hands-on science solution which connects students to science concepts in a way that's never been done before, unlocking 'aha' moments for all students, supporting teachers with curriculum-aligned lessons, and engaging the whole classroom.
Do you have what it takes?
The ideal candidate brings a relevant design education combined with similar proven and validated experience within design and creative thinking. You have solid knowledge with the LEGO® System and LEGO® Technic system and experience with the development process of new designs. In addition, you have a hands-on approach to the design process and the ability to program in Scratch environment as well as knowledge of the Python programming language.
As a person, you are curious and open minded to new ideas and learning opportunities. You thrive in cross functional collaboration as well as you know children and their capabilities.
