Job Overview:

Our Direct Business platform is a key strategic differentiator for the firm, providing advisors with the flexibility to offer a wide range of non-custodial products.

We are seeking an AVP, Data Product Owner to join this dynamic team and lead the data strategy and execution for our Investment Management product portfolio, with an initial and primary focus on the ongoing transformation of our core Direct Business platform.


This is a leadership role responsible for defining and driving the data product roadmap for critical data domains. You will act as the central point of ownership for these data assets, ensuring they meet the highest standards of quality and governance. You will partner closely with senior business and technology stakeholders to align the data strategy with our firm's broader product goals, including our multi-year initiative to modernize the Direct Business platform and unlock new revenue opportunities. You will also act as a key liaison between scrum teams and business stakeholders, ensuring the teams build the right solutions at the right time to maximize business value.

Responsibilities:

  • Data Strategy & Vision: Define and champion the product vision and roadmap for Investment Management products, ensuring alignment with the overall product strategy and firm-wide data governance principles.
  • Data Governance & Stewardship: Act as the primary steward for your data domains, establishing and enforcing data quality rules, access controls, and security protocols.
  • Stakeholder Partnership: Foster deep collaboration between business, technology, and operations teams. Act as a primary liaison to translate high-level business needs into a clear and actionable data product backlog.
  • Roadmap Execution: Own and prioritize the data product backlog, working with scrum teams to deliver features, enhancements, and foundational data capabilities.
  • Knowledge & Best Practices: Foster a culture of data literacy and knowledge sharing, ensuring that data is treated as a critical, shared asset across the organization.

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of experience in data-focused product management, product ownership, or business systems analysis, preferably within financial services.
  • 5+ years as a Product Owner or Product Manager in a complex, enterprise-scale Agile/Scrum environment.
  • Proven expertise in data governance, data quality management, and defining data requirements for large-scale platforms.
  • Expert proficiency with Jira and Confluence for creating and managing product roadmaps, backlogs, and strategic documentation.

  • Influence & Leadership: Proven ability to drive outcomes and align cross-functional teams and senior stakeholders without direct authority.
  • Expert Communication: Exceptional skills in presenting complex data concepts and strategies to both technical and non-technical audiences at all levels of the organization.
  • Data-Driven Decision Making: Strong analytical skills with a demonstrated ability to use data to evaluate opportunities, define success metrics, and drive prioritization.
  • Risk Management: Proactively anticipates, identifies, and manages risks related to data quality, security, and project delivery.

Preferences:

  • Bachelor's Degree in a technical or business-related field.
  • Deep technical background with an expert understanding of data architecture, SORs, APIs, and data modeling.

Pay Range:

$106,088-$176,813/yearActual base salary varies based on factors, including but not limited to, relevant skill, prior experience, education, base salary of internal peers, demonstrated performance, and geographic location.
