The Merchandising Manager is responsible for product selections for AEG Vision retail practices with a focus on product. They also develop and maintain merchandise assortment plans ensuring that the right product is available in the right practices at the right time of the year. The Merchandising Manager works with suppliers regarding product, cost of goods and payment terms. This position has direct P&L responsibility and works in tandem with the Director of Merchandising to ensure set goals and objectives of the organization and merchandising department are met.
- Develops and maintains merchandise assortments in our Premium Fashion and Luxury categories that properly fill the needs of each business and each store to help achieve outstanding sales and EBITDA
- Establish and maintain relationships with high visibility vendors to meet organizational goals
- Coach, develop and influence our fast group product team
- Builds and maintains a strong relationship with our 3rd party DC partner
- Works with our cross function partners on specialty programs, processes, system needs, promotions and auditing
- Grow the category via planning, budgeting, forecasting, and driving growth and establishing a comprehensive understanding of the competitive landscape
- Analyzes data and provide insights and recommendations to CMO and Director of Merch in order to grow the business and ensure the correct assortment mix is in place
- Always looking for creative ideas to drive business improvements, innovation, and customer experience.
- College Degree is preferred and/or a strong track record of achievement in retail product merchandising over a period of 6 or more years
- Optical retail experience is preferred
- Boutique Luxury buying experience preferred
- Must have the ability to travel to newly acquired locations as needed
- Has a track record of being analytical, technical and system savvy and have strong Excel skills
- Must understand the critical nature of how retail assortments can impact a store’s ability to drive positive sales and have a proven track record of same
- Must have a demonstrated awareness and track record of understanding how merchandising, product assortments and field management all work together cohesively
- Ability to work independently and to manage multiple tasks at a time
- Entrepreneurial mindset a must
