The Role

At Oroton, we’re entering an exciting chapter of growth, and we know our people are at the heart of it. With 400+ retail employees across more than 45 stores in NSW, ACT, VIC, QLD, SA, and WA, our teams are expanding and evolving.

We’re looking for a Learning & Development Manager to join our Retail Operations team, reporting directly to the General Manager of Retail. In this role, you’ll play a pivotal part in shaping capability, leadership, and future success across our national retail network. Domestic travel will be an essential part of the role as you connect with teams in-store and bring training programs to life.

This is your chance to craft and lead the learning agenda for a brand with heritage, ambition, and a strong culture of excellence.

  • Lead Oroton’s retail L&D strategy, aligning programs to business priorities, customer experience, and leadership capability.
  • Partner with State, Regional, and Store Managers to identify capability gaps and future skill needs, turning insights into targeted programs.
  • Deliver leadership pathways that equip current and emerging leaders to inspire teams and drive commercial outcomes.
  • Create engaging training content across product knowledge, service, VM, and sales coaching to ensure a consistent, elevated in-store experience.
  • Drive onboarding and induction, reducing time-to-competency and setting new starters up for success.
  • Coach and mentor leaders to embed a learning culture and support career development.
  • Use data, feedback, and digital platforms (Employment Hero/Go1) to measure effectiveness and refine initiatives for maximum impact.

What We Are Looking For:

  • A confident facilitator and communicator who can influence and inspire at every level.
  • Proven expertise in instructional design and the ability to deliver scalable, high-impact training programs.
  • A natural coach with a track record of developing leaders and building strong teams.
  • Sharp retail or commercial acumen, with a focus on driving performance and elevating customer experience.
  • Strong project management skills - organised, detail-oriented, and innovative in approach.
  • A collaborative problem-solver with a genuine passion for unlocking potential in others.
