Koniag Information Technology Services (KITS), a Koniag Government Services company, is seeking an IT Asset Manager to support our Army customer in Huntsville, Alabama. This position requires on-site presence in Huntsville, Alabama.

The IT Asset Manager will be responsible for overseeing the complete lifecycle of all IT assets across the AMC Enterprise. This on-site role will focus on providing comprehensive IT asset management services for the Army Materiel Command (AMC) Enterprise, ensuring accountability and optimal utilization of all IT resources. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in IT asset lifecycle management, software license optimization, and compliance with Army regulations.
Principal responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
• Deliver comprehensive IT Asset Management services across the AMC Enterprise
• Ensure accountability and optimized utilization of all IT hardware and software assets
• Track, analyze, and report on the complete asset lifecycle, usage patterns, and associated costs
• Manage Commercial Off-The-Shelf (COTS) solutions and associated investments
• Implement and maintain robust software license management processes
• Analyze software licensing requirements across the organization
• Consolidate licenses into enterprise agreements where beneficial
• Provide proactive recommendations for cost savings through optimized maintenance and renewals
• Leverage Enterprise License Agreements to maximize value and reduce costs
• Develop and maintain AMC Enterprise Software Management policies and procedures
• Provide expert input on license terms and conditions to ensure favorable agreements
• Generate regular reports on software usage, with emphasis on high-cost software utilization
• Create detailed spend breakdowns by vendor and solution
• Track and report installation statistics and user adoption rates
• Provide proactive notifications to AMC CIOs regarding upcoming license renewals
• Alert stakeholders about planned upgrades or potential software retirements
• Maintain accurate records of all HQ AMC IT hardware and software assets
• Collaborate with the Property Book Officer (PBO) and Hand Receipt Holders (HRH)
• Ensure compliance with Army Regulations 25-1 and 25-2 and all other applicable regulations
• Recommend strategic asset sustainment plans to maximize value and minimize lifecycle costs
• Support asset acquisition planning and budgeting processes
• Implement asset disposal procedures in accordance with regulations
• Conduct regular audits and reconciliation of IT asset inventory
Education and Experience:
Required:
• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Information Technology, Supply Chain Management, or related field
• 3+ years of experience in IT asset management, software license management, or related role
• Experience with IT asset lifecycle management processes and tools
• Background in software license compliance and optimization
• Knowledge of IT procurement and vendor management
Required Skills and Competencies:
• Strong understanding of IT asset management principles and best practices
• Experience with software license management and optimization
• Knowledge of hardware asset tracking and lifecycle management
• Proficiency in analyzing asset utilization and cost data
• Experience developing asset management policies and procedures
• Understanding of IT procurement processes and contract management
• Ability to analyze complex licensing terms and conditions
• Experience with asset tracking tools and systems
• Strong analytical and reporting skills
• Knowledge of compliance requirements for IT assets
• Ability to develop strategic recommendations based on asset data
• Experience with cost optimization strategies for IT assets
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in inventory management
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
• Ability to collaborate effectively with various stakeholders
• Experience generating asset management reports
• Understanding of IT budgeting and financial planning
• Knowledge of asset disposal and retirement processes
• Ability to obtain and maintain required security clearances
• Willingness to work on-site in Huntsville, Alabama
Desired Skills and Competencies:
• Master's degree in a relevant field
• Certifications in IT Asset Management (ITAM), IT Service Management (ITIL), or related areas
• Experience working in Army or DoD environments
• Knowledge of Army Regulations 25-1 and 25-2
• Experience with DoD property accountability systems
• Background in government procurement processes
• Experience with Enterprise License Agreements
• Knowledge of cloud licensing models
• Understanding of Configuration Management Database (CMDB) principles
