Summary
The Manager - East Coast SCM Team 2 (HOT) will b responsible for managing and coordinating logistics operations for HMMA, KaGA, and auto parts suppliers. The role focuses on ensuring timely delivery, optimizing efficiency, developing new business models and routes, and supporting the growth of the Freight Forwarding business. Also, provide customer service and implement process improvements to enhance overall performance. Additionally, the role includes oversight of Freight Forwarding accounts and AR/AP processes, including month-end closing, audits, and variance reporting, to maintain financial control.
Compensation Range
$94,000 - $105,000 per year (Subject to Compensation Study Upon Candidate Selection)
Responsibilities
• Manage and Coordinate operations of shipments
◦ Manage and coordinate daily shipment and trucking operations to ensure on-time delivery
◦ Monitor delivery schedules, transit times, container returns, and overall operational flow
◦ Maintain strong focus on customer satisfaction by providing problem-solving resources
◦ Build and manage relationships with clients, carriers, and service providers
◦ Negotiate service terms and resolve disputes related to detention, demurrage, chassis, and other charges
◦ Supervise, assist, and train team members to achieve operational and financial goals
◦ Foster collaboration across departments to maximize efficiency and customer satisfaction
◦ Set up, implement, and review operational policies and standard operations procedures (SOPs)
◦ Support onboarding of new customers and vendors, including account and system setup
◦ Track, input, and maintain all operational and financial data in company systems
◦ Review and oversee Accounts Receivable (AR) and Accounts Payable (AP) transactions.
◦ Ensure accurate and timely billing, collections, and payments for all charges
◦ Provide regular financial and operational updates to management
◦ Analyze data to assess performance and drive process improvements
◦ Oversee overall operational activities to maximize company profit and efficiency.
• Manage all related operations in a cost-effective manner
◦ Participate in month-end closing, including AR/AP review, accrual tests, and reporting
◦ Review and post AR/ARP transactions for freight forwarding offices (Irvine, CA, & Mobile, AL)
◦ Handle overseas settlements with Glovis Korea, issuing debit notes and approving credit notes
◦ Track and monitor AR/AP progress, rates, and monthly closing status
◦ Manage cost control, expenses, KPIs, contracts, and overall service performance
◦ Oversee and resolve demurrage, detention, and additional charge issues
◦ Support and back up Logistics Analysts and team members' responsibilities
◦ Provide guidance to staff, resolve accounting issues, and maintain system controls
◦ Recommend and implement process improvements for operational efficiency
◦ Deliver excellent logistics solutions to enhance service levels
◦ Support for all administrative tasks from management as needed
◦ Provide reports and information to internal customers (Operation, Accounting, and others) as needed
◦ Support special projects requested by customers and internal managements, etc.
◦ All other duties as assigned
