Aga Khan University invites applications for the position of Lecturer (Economics/Mathematics) for the Faculty of Arts and Sciences.

Responsibilities:

You Will Be Responsible For:

Teaching And Learning:

• Teach undergraduate courses in areas such as econometrics, mathematics for economists, and mathematics for undergraduates.
• Contribute to the design and delivery of quantitative courses that strengthen students’ analytical and critical skills.
• Supervise undergraduate research projects and support methodological development across disciplines.
• Participate in curriculum design, pedagogical innovation, and experiential learning initiatives.

Research, Scholarship, And Practice:

• Maintain engagement with scholarship, applied research, or professional practice in economics, mathematics, or related fields.
• Contribute to interdisciplinary projects that link quantitative methods to broader social, economic, and developmental questions.
• Explore opportunities for pedagogical innovation in quantitative teaching.

Service And Engagement:

• Support programme development, student advising, and faculty governance.
• Contribute to university committees, outreach activities, and community engagement.
• Foster a collaborative and innovative teaching culture within the faculty.

Requirements:

You Should Have:

• Master’s degree in Economics, Applied Mathematics, or a closely related discipline.
• Demonstrated ability to teach at the undergraduate level, particularly quantitative and methods-focused courses.
• Capacity to teach econometrics, mathematics for economists, and general undergraduate mathematics.
• Evidence of scholarly engagement, applied research, or professional practice.
• Commitment to interdisciplinary liberal arts education.
