Job Role / Responsibilities:

Reporting to Assistant Manager, Finance you will lead the financial activities of the segments of the Finance department and provide regular and periodic reports and interact with internal and external customers in a supervisory role.

Specifically, you will be responsible to;

  • Budget Preparation & Planning
  • Financial Analysis & Reporting
  • Monitoring & Control
  • Decision Support
  • Collaboration & Communication
  • Assist in preparing annual budgets for academic entities, including staffing, operations, and program costs.
  • Coordinate with academic and administrative units to gather inputs for budget submissions.
  • Support in financial forecasting.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual variance analysis reports.
  • Analyze key financial trends (revenues, expenses, headcounts, grants, scholarships).
  • Highlight risks, opportunities, and provide recommendations for corrective actions.
  • Track actual expenses against budget for academic units.
  • Ensure compliance with internal financial policies and donor/grant requirements.
  • Support reconciliation of academic program costs with the General Ledger.
  • Provide financial insights to line manager for decision-making.
  • Support in evaluating new academic programs, student enrollment projections, and capital projects.
  • Develop financial models and scenario analyses.
  • Act as a liaison between Academic departments and Finance.
  • Support cross-functional projects such as endowment utilization, scholarships, and cost recovery models.
  Eligibility Criteria / Requirements:
  • Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field (MBA/CA/ACCA preferred).
  • 2–4 years of relevant experience in budgeting, planning, or financial analysis (academic or nonprofit sector preferred).
  • Strong knowledge of financial planning systems (PeopleSoft, Oracle, SAP, or equivalent).
  • Advanced Excel and financial modeling skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and presentation abilities.
  • Detail-oriented with ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with academic and administrative teams.
