Job Description

What You’Ll Do At Ohiomhas:
- At Madison Correctional Institution you will conduct interviews and provide engagement and supervised counseling services to clients.
- You will screen clients to determine eligibility for substance use disorder treatment services.
- Complete assessments, treatment plans, progress notes and discharge planning with participants (documented in electronic health record).
- Participate as an active member of the treatment team.
Selected applicant(s) will be required to complete the Ohio Department of Rehabilitation & Correction's training at the Corrections Training Academy located in Orient, OH. This training is approximately 4 weeks in length.
This is an hourly position covered by the Ohio Health Care SEIU/1199 bargaining unit (union), with a pay range of 9 on the Ohio Health Care SEIU/1199 Pay Range Schedule. Normal working hours are Monday-Friday 8:00 am – 4:00 pm [Hours may vary/including late night(s)]. This position is located within Madison Correctional Institution at 1851 State Route 56 SW, London, Ohio 43140.
Unless required by any applicable union contract and/or requirements of the Ohio Revised Code, the selected candidate will begin at Step 1 of the pay range schedule listed above, with an opportunity for pay increase after six months of satisfactory performance and then a yearly raise thereafter.

On record as Chemical Dependency Counselor Assistant in process of achieving ‘Chemical Dependency Counselor’ credential recognized by the Ohio Chemical Dependency Professionals Board or other Ohio licensing authority with jurisdiction over professionals authorized to provide counseling services (e.g., Medical Board; Psychology Board; Nursing Board; Counselor & Social Worker and Marriage and Family Therapist Board); valid driver’s license.
