The Role You’Ll Contribute:

The Charge Nurse is a skilled practitioner in assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating care for an assigned group of patients. Provides care to patient populations with complex health issues and serves as a clinical resource to nursing staff. Analyzes and anticipates less predictable outcomes of nursing interventions. 
Primary responsibilities include clinical practice, management, and education. Determines appropriate nursing interventions for identified patient problems, symptoms, behavioral changes and teaching needs. Addresses issues in the standards of care.

The value you’ll bring to the team: 

• Assists with Performance Improvement projects and makes suggestions where opportunity for improvement is identified.
• Assists with staff development (new employee orientation, staff training, in-services) and developing competencies.
• Attends all mandatory hospital in-services and required staff meetings.
• Communicates with Supervisor on all departmental issues including but not limited to assisting with staff meeting agenda and discussions, staff competencies and progress, and physician requests and complaints.
• Communicates with physicians and staff to assist supervisor with scheduling, patient placement and pre/post procedures.

The expertise and experiences you’ll need to succeed: 

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• Previous Charge Nurse experience.
• 2+ years Cardiac Cath Lab or Cath Lab Recovery experience.
• 2+ years of critical care experience.
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support
• Basic Life Support
• State of Florida License in Registered Nurse
