We are looking for a Casual Banqueting Commis Chef with a passion for presentation, dedication to flavour and commitment to setting high standards from workspace to table and beyond. Every plate has the potential to create a memory that lasts a lifetime for our guests. By taking pride in your workspace, emphasizing maintaining hygienic standards and consistency, and giving our menu the benefit of your expertise, you’ll create some of our guests’ most lasting memories.
Every day is different, but you’ll mostly be:● Working as a Casual Commis chef● Assist in the preparation and production of high-quality dishes across a variety of outlets including a la carte, buffet, and banquets● Taking ownership for your workstation – keeping on top of supplies, equipment and waste ensuring mise en place and service requirements are met● Being cleaner than clean to meet or exceed local cleanliness and HACCP requirements● Work efficiently and calmly in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail and consistency● Contribute to menu development, daily specials and new dish ideas● Collaborate with the Demi chef, Chef de Partie and Sous Chef to ensure smooth kitchen operations
What We need from you:● Minimum 1–2 years’ experience in a professional kitchen, preferably in a fast-paced environment● Proven ability to manage a section independently or with minimal supervision ● A passion for food, quality, and continuous learning● Ability to work under pressure and maintain composure during busy service periods● The flexibility to work night, weekend and holiday shifts ● Good understanding of food safety, hygiene, and kitchen best practices● Certificate III in Commercial Cookery or equivalent qualification
