Regulatory & Compliance
Ensure studies are conducted in compliance with local/federal regulations, IRB requirements, SOPs, and GCP. Facilitate SAE reporting and documentation of protocol deviations in partnership with regulatory staff.
Study Start‑Up & Implementation
Coordinate activation and training; present at required committees; communicate protocol requirements to the care team; maintain proof of training/communication; develop/complete source documentation; confirm protocol adherence.
Recruitment & Enrollment
Recruit and screen participants; complete intake assessments; confirm inclusion/exclusion criteria; conduct informed consent and maintain documentation; enroll participants in required systems (e.g., IVRS/OPEN); create/maintain study documentation; coordinate treatment plans, dose adjustments, and medication modifications per protocol; serve as liaison between sponsor and investigators; provide participant education and ongoing study updates; manage complex protocols.
Data, Quality & Documentation
Perform and oversee data collection, query resolution, and timely case report form completion; contribute to quality improvement and EQIP initiatives; assist with development of Epic tools and standardized documentation practices.
- Budgeting & Billing
- Assist PI with protocol‑specific budget development; manage study‑related billing workflows and clinical correspondence with departments/agencies as appropriate.
- Participant Care
- Perform nursing assessments and protocol‑required procedures within scope of practice; coordinate care across multidisciplinary teams to ensure subject safety.
- Specimen & Supply Management
- Ensure proper sample collection, processing, storage, and shipping; monitor supply/equipment inventory and reorder as needed to support study operations.
- Mentorship & Training
- Facilitate protocol‑specific training for study personnel; coach/orient team members and students; support cross‑coverage and knowledge sharing across studies.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Education: Nursing Diploma or Associate’s Degree in Nursing required; BSN preferred.
Experience: 3+ years of relevant nursing experience including 2+ years as an RN in clinical research.
Licensure: Active RN license (State of [NJ] or compact, as applicable).
Certification: SOCRA/ACRP certification preferred.
Skills & Competencies
Meticulous attention to detail and accurate record‑keeping.
Strong written and verbal communication; ability to educate participants and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
Solid understanding of research workflow, protocol implementation, adverse event assessment/management, and documentation standards.
Organization, time management, and ability to manage multiple complex protocols.
Proficiency with EHR (e.g., Epic), study enrollment systems, and Microsoft Office tools.
