Software Engineer II, Pixel Modem Software

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 1 year of experience with software development in one or more programming languages (e.g., Python, C, C++, Java, JavaScript).
• 1 year of experience with Android application or operating systems development.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or related technical field.
• Experience with embedded systems development.
• Experience developing Android Operating System components.
• Experience building automation tooling for large systems.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and debugging system integration issues.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $118,000-$170,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and productionize embedded, Android and server-side code for consumer products.
• Work efficiently to analyze problems, evaluate solutions with clear tradeoffs, and triage issues.
• Utilize Google's AI-enhanced workflows and apply them to internal tools and production software.
• Apply enterprise software engineering practices, including code reviews, ensuring code readability, and resolving bugs.
• Estimate software efforts and apply software planning and project management principles.
