Primary Objectives Of Position:
This position is designed for a college student looking for a hands-on experience to learn more about Trans Ova Genetics and the advanced reproduction technologies that we have to offer. We are looking for an individual who is motivated and wants to follow a career path in agricultural reproduction.
During this internship, you will get the experience to fully understand the complete process of IVF and every step that makes our system work. We want to expose this individual to different departments and responsibilities within Trans Ova to gain knowledge and skills not only in the workplace, but in the real world. This intern will be assigned a project to work on in a desired area to present to the center at the end of the internship.
Job Duties And Responsibilities:
- Hands-on project on a desirable topic agreed upon with supervisor.
- Assist the Production teams with moving cattle in and out of the chute, prepare equipment for IVF procedures, and giving shots.
- Assist the export team in semen certifications, export shipments and blood sample calcifications.
- Assist the IVF lab with embryo freezing preparation, inventory and effectively learn how to use a pipette to complete other tasks such as stripping, moving embryos, and loading embryos on practice donors ran in clinic.
- Learn to inventory, pull, and check in semen and embryos.
- Interact with clients on preparing shipments and inventory management.
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Background in agriculture is preferred
- Degree in an Agricultural related field
- Must show interest in learning all aspects of the business, rather than one defined position.
- Willingness to learn and develop both personally and professionally
- Must be flexible to working schedules, as each department may require a different structure.
- Computer skills are required.
