JOB SUMMARY: The Assistant Baker is responsible for quality preparation of baked goods in an atmosphere of cleanliness and in an efficient manner as directed by the Executive Baker. Ensures Food and Nutrition Services Central Operations develop and promote good community relations.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: The subsequent duties outline the fundamental operations of the position and exemplify the nature of the tasks carried out. Packages and fills orders for each school kitchen and catering department.

Operates all bakery equipment and preforms routine equipment preventative maintenance.

Works cooperatively with other central operation employees and school kitchen staff. Manages bakery on a temporary basis as needed in the absence of the Executive Baker/Baker.

Ability to adapt recipes and techniques to meet the regulations and guidelines of the National School Lunch and Breakfast program.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: The minimum prerequisites of formal education, professional work experience, certifications, licenses, endorsements, designations, trainings, and other criteria that a candidate must fulfill to be considered for a position. It is essential that certifications, licenses, endorsements, designations, and trainings are fulfilled, valid, and not expired.

- High School Equivalency (HSE) diploma
- One (1) year of professional work experience
- Communicates effectively in both written and verbal form.
- Basic math and computer skills.
- Self- motivated with excellent attendance.
