Job Description
Gameloft Ukraine is seeking a Balance Game Designer to join our creative team and ensure our game economy, mechanics, and systems are both engaging and fair. You will be responsible for designing, analyzing, and fine-tuning gameplay parameters that define progression, difficulty, rewards, and overall player satisfaction.
This role requires a mix of creativity, strong analytical thinking, and a passion for delivering fun, balanced experiences to millions of players worldwide.
Qualifications
Key Responsibilities:
- Define and adjust progression systems, in-game currencies, difficulty curves, and rewards.
- Fine-tune characters, levels, abilities, and features to ensure fair, fun, and challenging gameplay.
- Collaborate with analytics teams to interpret player data and adjust systems to improve retention, engagement, and monetization.
- Create clear, detailed design documentation for balance-related features and updates.
- Work closely with other designers, producers, and developers to ensure balance goals are aligned with the creative vision and business objectives.
- Organize and analyze playtests to validate assumptions and ensure a high-quality player experience.
Qualifications & Skills:
- 2+ years of experience as a Game Designer, Balance Designer, or Systems Designer (mobile or F2P games preferred).
- Strong understanding of game economies, progression systems, and player motivations.
- Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data and apply insights to design decisions.
- Proficiency with spreadsheets, balance tools, and basic statistical methods.
- Excellent communication and documentation skills.
- Passion for mobile games and awareness of current market trends.
- English: Upper-Intermediate or higher.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working on live games or free-to-play titles.
- Familiarity with monetization systems and how they interact with balance.
- Understanding of probability, statistics, or mathematical modeling.
- Previous experience collaborating with analytics or data science teams.
