Part-time, 20 hours/week

Hours scheduled are flexible and variable depending on provider's schedule.

The Scribe’s role is to increase the efficiency and the productivity of the provider they are working for by allowing the provider to focus on what is most important, the patient. The Scribe follows a provider through his or her workday and charts patient encounters in real time using Touchworks and existing templates. The Scribe will document the patient’s history of present illness, the provider’s interaction with the patient, the procedures performed, the results of laboratory/diagnostic tests ordered, and other pertinent information.

Education And Experience Required:

  • Graduate of a medical secretary/transcription program; or
  • Completion of equivalent courses involving medical terminology, anatomy & physiology, and various medical specialties; and/or
  • At least one year of medical transcription experience.
  • Acute auditory sensitivity and keen hand/eye coordination
  • Excellent written and oral communication including English usage, grammar, and punctuation
  • Ability to understand diverse accents and dialects and varying dictation styles
  • Proficient computer skills, including utilizing word processing, dictation, and transcription equipment
  • Ability to maintain concentration, perform effectively under time constraints, and demonstrate excellent listening skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with ability to build and maintain cooperative working relationships
  • Current BLS certification required or obtained within 90 days of start date.

Employment is contingent on successful completion of drug screen, health assessment, and background check.

  • Base Pay Range: $18.75-27.15, initial pay based on relevant work experience.
