Job Description

Develop and implement manufacturing process improvement programs for the company.

  • Improve manufacturing methods; modify processes to improve safety and product quality, and/or reduce costs through lean initiatives
  • Plan work force utilization, space requirements, workflow; design layout of equipment and workspace for maximum efficiency
  • Work collaboratively with Design and Purchasing team to develop product design and tooling processes to ensure efficient production methods
  • Support new valve and product launches through production using production launching tools and processes (i.e., APQP/PEP, PFMEA, Mistake – Proofing, Control Plan, Measurement System Analysis, Value Stream Mapping, DFM/DFA, etc.)
  • Establish new and improve existing prep, assembly, and test processes continuously
  • Utilize statistical process controls to monitor production processes
  • Streamline new product development projects
  • Design new and improve existing assembly fixtures
  • Perform other duties as assigned by manager
  • Lead and supervise the team to drive improvements to First Pass Yield, Productivity and more.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree with an emphasis in Mechanical Engineering preferred or experience in lieu 
  • Five to Ten years related experience or equivalent
  • Supervisory experience a plus
  • Three to Five years experience leading projects and teams
  • Strong background in 3D modeling software, Creo preferred
  • Strong background in assembly fixture design
  • Strong background in process development preferred
  • Commitment to excellence and high standards
  • Good written and oral communication skills
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills
  • Ability to manage priorities and workflow
  • Acute attention to detail
  • Demonstrated ability to coordinate and organize projects
  • Proficient on Microsoft Office Suite, DMAIC and TOC
  • Proven ability to handle multiple projects and meet deadlines
  • Good judgement with the ability to make timely and sound decisions
  • Creative, flexible, and innovative team player 
  • Working knowledge of data collection, data analysis, evaluation, and scientific method
  • Working knowledge and understanding of the basic principles, theories, concepts, and practices in the applicable area of engineering/technical specialization
