Job Description
The Clinical Educator is responsible to coordinate and provide clinical education and training to clinical areas of KVH in coordination with the Patient Care Services and Human Resources Divisions.
The Clinical Educator provides house-wide and most unit specific clinical education for all skill levels. The learning environment may include presentation (live and video), skill demonstration, bedside instruction, online modules, electronic clinical documentation, and independent learning modules.
The Clinical Educator is responsible to assist with clinical education in (but not limited to) new hire orientation, annual competencies, organization strategic initiatives, implementation of new equipment, implementation of significant new processes, and other organization educational needs as assigned.
In collaboration with Staff Development and the CNO, the Clinical Educator will track compliance and work directly with employees to promote compliance regarding mandatory and required clinical informatics educational competencies. The Clinical Educator may be asked to serve as an educational resource for KVH department specific implementations, committees, and strategic initiatives.
The Clinical Educator may also be the primary point-of-contact for the creation and ongoing maintenance of the Nursing Assistant Certification program.
Qualifications
What Is Required...
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program & currently licensed in the State of Washington
- Current CPR card (maintenance required)
- Recent experience in formal clinical education and development of educational programs
What Is Preferred...
- Five years recent experience in an acute care setting preferred
- Preceptor, mentorship, and/or leadership nursing experience
- Previous experience with presenting to groups and/or individuals
- Master’s degree in nursing or related educational field
Additional Information
Wage: Wage range currently starts at $41.39/hour and goes up to $75.91/hour. Actual wage will be based on years' of applicable experience.
