The following position is to join our BBN team:
RTX BBN is one of RTX’s premier research and development centers. Our research portfolio combines the best technologies to deliver innovative, custom solutions with real-world benefit. We are seeking a candidate with FPGA development experience to join the Physical Sciences & Systems (PS2) group in Cambridge, Massachusetts.
What will you do
- Join a world-class team that works with a broad range of government agencies to solve problems that are both technically challenging and have a real-world operational impact.
- The candidate will support state-of-the-art experimental testbeds for quantum information systems, integrated photonic systems, real-time sensor processing systems, and other physical sciences pursuits.
- The ideal candidate will have good knowledge in digital systems, HDL, signal processing, hands-on experience with development of real-time embedded systems, and willingness to support limited off-site testing.
- Knowledge of high-speed interfaces and experience developing in multiple programming domains, including RTL, VHDL, Verilog, and scripting languages is a plus.
Basic Qualifications:
- Advanced degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Physics or related discipline; or Bachelor's degree and minimum 5 years of experience.
- Professional experience in FPGA development processes: RTL design, verification, timing analysis, lab bring up and validation
- Understanding of DSP fundamentals and their implementation on FPGAs
- Understanding of computing and processor architectures
- Software development experience in C/C++, Python
- Scripting development experience (bash, Tcl, etc.)
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with SoC boards running bare metal code as well as configuring and deploying embedded Linux (e.g. Petalinux)
- Experience with RFSoC boards and/or high-speed analog signal generation and digitization
- Experience with high-speed interfaces, including experience in Ethernet, serial point to point communication (sFPDP, SPI), and high-speed memory interfaces (HBM2, DDR)
- Familiarity with building Linux drivers for FPGA peripherals
- Experience with high level synthesis tools, including BlueSpec System Verilog
- Experience working with domain experts to define requirements and design systems to be used in experimental or operational environments
