Ontario DC – Associate, Trainer

Description: This role will be responsible for the upkeeping, maintaining and execution of all training materials, records and assist in the development of all current and future VF associates, leads and managers. The trainer will collaborate cross-functionally to enhance the safety, efficiency and effectiveness of current training materials and processes. The trainer will also participate in the creation and execution of developmental tools for the building.

  • Onboarding and training new employees, ensuring they understand warehouse operations and safety procedures, and maintaining training materials.
  • Train and teach all aspects of Operations
  • Ensure consistency in training proper procedures for each department
  • Facilitate training sessions based on weekly departmental training requirements and building needs as well as cross training when needed.
  • Facilitate Safety Courses and safety re-trains
  • Review training compliance reports to help identify training opportunities
  • Identify areas for improvement for associates and provide additional training support where needed
  • Evaluate associate performances throughout the training program and give recommendations to Operations
  • Effectively present and facilitate course content to associates in a positive manner
  • Proficiently assist in developing training materials
  • Review current Standard Operating Procedures for accuracy and request updates as
  • needed
  • Ensure all training documents are updated as processes are added or changed
  • Develop strategic partnerships with Operations and Support leadership to ensure training meets the needs of both
  • Conduct cross training of associates into different areas as needed
  • Help with weekly coaching and give tips to help improve employee performance.
  • Ensure consistency in training proper procedures for each department
  • Creating Training Materials for SOP & Job Aids to support training programs.
  • Operate with confidentiality
  • Assist with any Continuous Improvement projects
  • Serve as potential proxy for Continuous Improvement Manager
  • Assist with development of tools and participate in data collection
  • High level time management
  • Ability to work independently to meet tight deadlines
  • Create and execute upward level training materials and level up trainings
  • Equipment Certifications: Certifying employees to operate powered industrial
  • trucks.

What do you need to succeed?

The foundation skills you will need in this position are:

  • Two plus years training/work experience preferred
  • Possess organizational and planning skills
  • Ability to communicate in a professional manner
  • Ability to work under minimum supervision, multi-task, and meet regular deadlines
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend and pull for entire 10–12-hour shift
  • Proficient in Microsoft office (Excel, Word & PowerPoint) preferred
  • Ability to present to all levels of employees with confidence
  • High attention to detail with the ability to problem solve
  • Ability to change with minimal notice
  • Ability to build relationships

Special Requirements:

  • Able to work various shifts and weekends if necessary.

Warehouse Environment:

Must be physically capable of working in conditions normally associated with a merchandise warehouse or distribution center, such as, but not limited to, warm and cold temperatures, seeing and hearing moving equipment to stay out of harms way, and continuous power equipment noise.

Comp rates are subject to change based on role experience and other determining factors.

Hiring Range:

$17.00 USD - $21.25 USD per hour

Incentive Potential: This position is eligible for additional compensation awards that may include an annual incentive plan, sales incentive, or commission potential. Specific details of the additional compensation eligibility for this position will be provided during the recruiting and interview process.
