We have an exciting full-time position for a Supply Technician, Senior at the Department of Veterans Affairs Central Iowa VA Health Care System. Come join our onsite team supporting the VA health care system and play a vital role serving as a liaison between contracted staff and the VA Health Care System Logistics Service Line. 

Responsibilities:

• Ensure supplies and materials are distributed to all areas serviced by contracted junior supply technicians to provide wards, clinics, operating rooms, secondary storage locations, and other hospital facilities with supplies and material including but not limited to, sterile and non-sterile medical supplies, instrument sets, and equipment.
• Tasks include but are not limited to scanning, barcoding, receiving, storing, and the distribution of medical and surgical supplies, instruments, and other materials, cleaning and first in first out rotation of expendable medical supplies and implants.
• Distribute and balance tasks among contracted junior supply technicians in accordance with established workflow or job specialization and assures timely accomplishment of tasks.
• Monitors junior supply technicians’ status and progress of work and makes day-to-day adjustments in order to meet the requirements of this task order.
• Monitors the contracted junior supply technician’s performance inventory using bar code equipment and resolves differences between records and physical count of stock.
• Ensures contracted junior supply technicians maintain customer and professional contact.
• Daily contacts are made with clinical staff that uses medical supplies, along with other Logistics personnel; all contacts require tact and diplomacy.
• Works with clinical and administrative customers as well as outside stakeholders such as vendors to obtain information regarding clinical supplies.

Requirements: 
• A high school qualification or equivalent.
• Prior experience as a warehouse manager, supply technician or a similar role.
• Ability to lift and carry relatively heavy items.
• Excellent written communication skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and inventory logging software

The hourly rate of pay for this position is $36.94.
