Senior Azure Cloud Engineer - 12 Month Fixed Term Contract

About The Role:

We're looking for an experienced Azure Cloud Engineer to design, implement, and optimise Azure environments that support business-critical workloads. This role will be focused on enabling the foundations to support the migration of client workloads off-premise and into Azure. The Azure Cloud Engineer will deliver secure, scalable, and cost-efficient solutions using Azure services, Infrastructure-as-Code, and automation for reliable, high-quality deployments. This role will also work closely with Architecture, Security, Delivery and BAU teams as part of the design, implementation and optimisation of the Azure platform to host the newly migrated client workloads.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and deploy Azure landing zones and enterprise-scale cloud solutions.
• Build Infrastructure as Code using Terraform and pipelines.
• Provision Azure resources (Networking, Security, Identity, Compute, Storage, Monitoring) ensuring alignment with applications/services required to run client workloads.
• Build and maintain IaC templates (Terraform) and CI/CD pipelines.
• Automate operations with PowerShell and Python.
• Apply Azure security, IAM, and compliance standards.
• Optimise cloud performance and costs.
• Collaborate with Architecture, Security, Delivery and BAU teams.

Skills & Experience:

• Proven experience as an Azure Cloud Engineer in enterprise environments.
• Strong knowledge of Azure landing zones, subscriptions, and governance models.
• Expertise with Terraform and DevOps (pipelines, CI/CD).
• Solid experience with Azure services: RBAC, Azure Networking, Security, Storage, and Compute as well as monitoring tools.
• Exposure to AKS, containers, and API management desirable.
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills, with attention to detail.
• Demonstrated ability to lead projects and mentor team members.

Qualifications:

• Microsoft Azure certifications highly regarded (e.g., Solutions Architect Expert, Administrator Associate, DevOps Engineer Expert).
• AWS experience is also desirable.
• Additional certifications in cloud security, IaC, or DevOps are desirable.
• Degree in IT/Computer Science or equivalent industry experience.
