Job Title: Assistant Director of Nursing

Overview: The Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) at Booker T. Washington Skilled Nursing Facility plays a critical role in supporting the Director of Nursing (DON) in overseeing nursing operations to ensure the highest standards of patient care. The ADON assists in managing nursing staff, coordinating patient care activities, and ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements and facility policies.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support Nursing Leadership: Assist the Director of Nursing in the overall operation of the nursing department, including staffing, scheduling, and performance management.
• Quality Patient Care: Ensure that all resident care is delivered according to established standards, policies, and procedures while promoting a culture of quality and safety.
• Staff Management: Supervise nursing staff, provide guidance, and facilitate professional development. Assist with hiring, training, and evaluating nursing personnel.
• Regulatory Compliance: Ensure that nursing practices comply with state and federal regulations, as well as facility policies. Participate in inspections and quality assurance audits.
• Patient Assessment: Oversee and assist in the assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care plans, ensuring they meet residents' individual needs.
• Communication: To ensure comprehensive care, nursing staff, residents, families, and other healthcare team members must maintain open and effective communication.
• Policy Implementation: Aid in the development and implementation of nursing policies and procedures in accordance with best practices and regulatory standards.
• Emergency Response: Assist in developing and conducting emergency preparedness training and ensure staff are trained to respond effectively to emergencies and crisis situations.

Qualifications:

• Education: Must hold a valid nursing license (RN) in the state and possess a Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
