The Associate Vice President (AVP) – Sales is a senior leadership role responsible for driving revenue growth, developing strategic business opportunities, and building high-performing sales teams. This individual will play a critical role in shaping and executing the sales strategy, strengthening client relationships, and ensuring sustainable business expansion. The AVP – Sales will work closely with senior leadership and cross-functional teams to identify new markets, design effective go-to-market strategies, and deliver measurable business outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
- Sales Strategy & Execution
- Develop and implement robust sales strategies aligned with organizational goals.
- Drive revenue growth by identifying, qualifying, and closing new business opportunities.
- Forecast sales performance, analyze trends, and create actionable plans to exceed targets.
- Monitor competitor activities and market dynamics to adjust strategies accordingly.
- Business Development & Client Engagement
- Identify new markets, partnerships, and customer segments to expand business reach.
- Establish and nurture long-term relationships with key clients and stakeholders.
- Lead complex negotiations to secure high-value contracts and long-term engagements.
- Build a strong pipeline of opportunities through networking, referrals, and strategic partnerships.
- Team Leadership & Performance Management
- Lead, mentor, and inspire a high-performing sales and business development team.
- Set clear performance objectives and drive accountability to achieve revenue goals.
- Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and customer-centricity within the team.
- Conduct regular training, coaching, and performance reviews to enhance capabilities.
- Collaboration & Stakeholder Management
- Partner with marketing, product, and operations teams to develop and execute integrated growth strategies.
- Provide insights to product teams based on client feedback and market needs.
- Collaborate with leadership on pricing strategies, product positioning, and go-to-market initiatives.
- Sales Operations & Reporting
- Oversee accurate and timely reporting of sales metrics and pipeline health.
- Leverage CRM tools and data analytics to optimize sales performance and decision-making.
- Ensure compliance with organizational policies, ethical standards, and governance requirements.
Key Skills & Competencies
- Strong expertise in sales strategy, business development, and revenue growth.
- Proven ability to lead large accounts, manage negotiations, and close complex deals.
- Deep understanding of B2B and B2C sales models with exposure to multiple industries.
- Strong business acumen with the ability to translate strategy into execution.
- Exceptional leadership, people management, and team-building skills.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management abilities.
- Analytical mindset with experience in sales forecasting, pipeline management, and data-driven decisions.
- Ability to thrive in fast-paced, dynamic environments with high levels of ownership.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Sales, or a related field (MBA preferred).
- 10–15 years of progressive experience in sales and business development, with at least 5 years in a leadership capacity.
- Demonstrated track record of achieving and exceeding revenue targets.
- Prior experience in scaling business operations and managing diverse sales teams.
