The Clinical Pharmacist plays an important role in the continued learning and development of Postgraduate year 1 (PGY-1) PharmD graduates. This is an amazing opportunity for someone looking to continue their leadership and training skills through the hands on mentoring of residents gaining professional competence in patient centered care and pharmacy operational services.
Essential Job Duties & Responsibilities
• Assist in training incoming pharmacy residents on compliance packaging procedure and the completion of appointments
• Complete ASHP evaluations for pharmacy residents; communicate/share concerns regarding performance to residency program director and other preceptors
• Develop clinical pharmacy programs according to policies and regulations
• Review records of patients to determine the appropriateness of medication therapy
• Evaluate patient’s condition to ensure all issues are being treated
• Identify untreated health problems and refer patients to appropriate physicians
• Develop effective medication plans that minimize the risk of adverse side-effects
• Consult on dosages, medication substances etc.
• Advise on the correct administration of drugs
• Assess the results of pharmaceutical treatments
• Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient care
• Keep accurate documentation of medication plans and patient progress

▪ Emergency staffing – Will provide staffing at any pharmacy location if needed for an illness/emergency staffing issue
▪ Assist with LAI administration as needed

Job Qualifications
▪ Must be a Licensed Registered Pharmacist in good standing with the Ohio Board of Pharmacy.
▪ Must be vaccination certified.
▪ Must meet the requirements of the Preceptor as determined by ASHP/APhA for a PGY-1 Community pharmacy residency.
▪ Must have an awareness of and sensitivity to the cultural diversity of the population served.
▪ Candidates who have completed a PGY-1 residency are preferred.
Physical Demands/Work Environment
This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to speak and hear. The employee is frequently required to sit for extended periods of time, stand, walk, use hands and fingers, and reach with hands and arms. It requires the ability to reach and bend or stand on a stool as necessary. This position has a medium risk of contact with blood or body fluids during vaccine and LAI administration. Travel and work outside of normal hours may be required for meetings, presentations, trainings and other events.

This position assists in the supervision of pharmacy residents and may supervise pharmacy staff when acting as Pharmacist on a fill-in basis.
