Asset Management – Emerging Markets & Asia Pacific (EMAP) Equities – Investment Specialist (Vice President) 

The Emerging Markets and Asia Pacific (EMAP) Equities team is responsible for managing all global, regional and single country Emerging Markets and Asia Pacific equity portfolios, with investment professionals located in nine locations across the globe. The team is headed by Anuj Arora.

The EMAP Investment Specialist team is responsible for the retention of existing clients, generating new business, and development of the product range.  The Investment Specialist team in London is looking for an Vice President-level Investment Specialist to assist the team with servicing clients with a geographical focus on EMEA and Latin American clients, although liaison with the US-based, Hong Kong-based and India-based Investment Specialists will be required on an ongoing basis. The expectation is that the candidate will move into a client-facing IS role.  

Key Responsibilities:

• Respond to day-to-day ad hoc client requests from sales teams 
• Support Senior Investment Specialists when travelling and assist in follow-up after meetings and road shows
• Writing commentary for client reports 
• Oversee the coordination of key client meetings (e.g. due diligence meetings)
• Develop strong relationships with internal departments to expedite and resolve client/sales queries 
• Liaison with RFP team in initial review stages of RFP documents and queries, with timely escalation of queries to Investment Specialists when necessary
• Assist in development of new promotional materials e.g. presentations, sales aids
• Ad hoc project work to enhance presentations/reports and increase efficiency of processes
• In time present EMAP strategies and market views to clients in meetings and seminars 

Essential Skills And Qualifications:

• European languages an advantage
• Client-focused and experience of managing client requests
• Strong communication and written skills 
• Ability to work as part of a team as well as on own initiative
• Excellent organisational and prioritisation skills to deliver to tight deadlines
• Strong numeracy skills
• Ability to interact with colleagues at all levels
• Knowledge of JPM’s pooled funds business across Europe
• CFA Level One (or prepared to sit and pass the exam in the near future) an advantage 
• Powerpoint, Excel and Word skills
• Working knowledge of Spectrum apps such as Performance View, Portfolio Analytics, Materials Library, Fund View, Client View, and Bloomberg an advantage
