Database Administrator (Postgres/Azure SQL, Legacy ERP Migration)

About The Role

We’re building a next-generation ERP SaaS platform and need a database specialist to help design, optimize, and maintain its relational database layer. The role includes migrating data from legacy ERP systems (Pervasive, Providex/flat files) into modern relational databases (Postgres/Azure SQL) and ensuring robust integration with our existing Oracle-based commerce tools.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, configure, and maintain Postgres and/or Azure SQL databases for the new ERP system
• Lead data migration from legacy ERP platforms (Pervasive and Providex) into relational databases
• Implement ETL/ELT pipelines to support migration and ongoing integrations
• Ensure database security, performance, and scalability in a multi-tenant SaaS environment
• Collaborate with engineering teams to design efficient schema and queries
• Support integrations between the new ERP database and existing Oracle commerce tools
• Implement backup, recovery, and disaster recovery strategies
• Monitor database performance and troubleshoot production issues

Requirements

• 5+ years as a DBA in enterprise or SaaS environments
• Strong experience with Postgres and/or Azure SQL
• Proven experience migrating from legacy databases (Pervasive, Providex, flat file systems)
• Expertise in performance tuning, query optimization, and schema design
• Knowledge of ETL/ELT tools and data migration best practices
• Proficiency in Linux-based environments
• Familiarity with Git/Bitbucket and Agile workflows
• Nice-to-have: experience supporting ERP or enterprise-scale integrations
• Experience with cloud platforms (Azure preferred; AWS or GCP also considered)
