Job Purpose:
Chief Sales Officer is a strategic leader responsible for driving the overall sales strategy, fostering innovation, and delivering sustained growth and profitability for the designated cluster.
Strategic Planning and Execution
- Collaborate with executive leadership to develop and refine the company's overall sales strategy and go-to-market approach, ensuring alignment with broader business objectives.
- Drive the implementation of strategic initiatives and sales programs, monitoring progress and performance against established goals and timelines.
- Provide regular updates and reports to senior management on sales performance, market trends, and key strategic initiatives, facilitating informed decision-making and course corrections as needed.
Compliance with Legal and Regulatory Standards
- Ensure adherence to all relevant laws, regulations, and corporate policies within sales and marketing function.
- Conduct regular compliance audits to monitor adherence to legal and regulatory standards.
- Prepare and submit detailed compliance reports to senior management, highlighting areas of concern and improvement.
Stakeholder Engagement and Relationship Management
- Cultivate and maintain strategic relationships with key customers, industry influencers, and stakeholders to drive business development opportunities and enhance customer satisfaction.
- Act as the primary liaison between the organization and key accounts, addressing their needs, resolving issues, and ensuring a high level of service and support.

- Use ethical reasoning to guide decisions, considering the broader impact on the organization and stakeholders.
- Ensure all communications, both verbal and written, reflect the organization’s commitment to integrity and ethics.
Financial Management and Performance Optimization
- Develop and manage the sales budget at a regional and organizational level, allocating resources strategically to support sales objectives and growth initiatives.
- Monitor financial performance against budgetary targets, identifying opportunities for cost optimization, revenue enhancement, and resource reallocation.
- Implement financial controls and risk management practices to ensure fiscal responsibility and alignment with organizational goals.

- Drive commercial success by contributing to the development and implementation of strategies that enhance revenue and market position.

- Provide visionary leadership to regional sales managers and their respective teams, fostering a culture of excellence, innovation, and accountability.
- Mentor and coach sales leaders to develop their leadership capabilities and drive performance excellence across the organization.
- Establish talent development programs and succession plans to ensure a pipeline of high-potential leaders capable of driving future growth and success.
Innovation and Continuous Improvement
- Promote a culture of innovation by encouraging team members to propose new ideas and approaches.
- Pilot new technologies and approaches to determine their effectiveness and scalability within the department.
- Implement feedback mechanisms to gather insights and make iterative improvements to processes and practices.
Policy Adherence and Development
- Implement and enforce organizational policies to maintain consistency and alignment with corporate objectives.
- Contribute to policy development by providing feedback and insights from departmental operations.
Brand Strategy and Promotion
- Define and execute brand-building initiatives to enhance brand visibility, awareness, and reputation in the marketplace.
- Oversee the development of integrated marketing and promotional campaigns to support sales objectives and drive demand generation.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of branding and promotional efforts through data-driven analysis and ROI measurement, adjusting strategies as needed to optimize results.
Strategic Channel Management
- Develop and refine channel management strategies in collaboration with regional sales teams to optimize distribution channels and enhance market penetration.
- Lead negotiations with sales promoters, dealers, and distribution partners to ensure alignment with company objectives and strategic priorities.
- Implement channel performance metrics and KPIs to monitor effectiveness and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
Internal Controls and Risk Management
- Develop and implement robust internal control systems to safeguard against financial and operational leakages.
- Conduct comprehensive risk assessments to identify potential threats to departmental operations.
- Monitor internal controls through regular audits and reviews, ensuring compliance and effectiveness.
Industry Leadership and Strategy
- Maintain a deep understanding of the cement manufacturing industry by actively participating in conferences, seminars, and networking events.
- Drive strategic decision-making by evaluating the company's competitive positioning relative to key competitors, identifying strengths, weaknesses, and areas for improvement.
Compliance And Governance
- Regularly audit sales transactions, contracts, and agreements to verify adherence to established policies and regulations, identifying discrepancies or potential issues.
- Develop and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for sales governance, such as adherence rates, audit findings, and corrective actions taken.

- Ensure that ethical guidelines are integrated into all aspects of departmental planning and operations.

- Experience of managing a team of 20+ subordinates
