Job Description:

The Experiential Learning (EL) team seeks a Graduate Student Employee (GSE) to provide 3D modeling services to students, faculty, and staff for the purposes of academic engagement and research. Work will begin in Spring 2025 and continue indefinitely, with potential summer employment negotiable.

  • General responsibilities include: 
  • -Create custom, printable 3D models to support academic and research projects. 
  • - Provide one-on-one consultations to patrons on 3D modeling projects, techniques, and best practices. 
  • - Develop, schedule, and lead 3D modeling workshops under the guidance of the Manager of Creative Making.  
  • - Assist in facilitating classroom experiences for courses integrating 3D modeling and prototyping.  

Qualifications:

  • -Must be currently enrolled in a graduate program at Baylor University. 
  • -Advanced proficiency with at least one major 3D modeling software, including, but not limited to: Rhinoceros 3D, AutoDesk Inventor, Blender, or SolidWorks. 
  • -Experience with 2D drafting (e.g., AutoCAD) is preferred but not required. 
  • -Familiarity with creative methods of teaching, tutoring, or other forms of instruction. 
  • -Prior experience in making, design, engineering, or education is a plus.
