Background/Context
UN Women, grounded in the vision of equality enshrined in the Charter of the United Nations, works for the elimination of discrimination against women and girls; the empowerment of women; and the achievement of equality between women and men as partners and beneficiaries of development, human rights, humanitarian action and peace and security.
UN Women is committed to eliminating all forms of violence against women and girls and advancing gender equality across all spheres, including the rapidly evolving digital space. In line with its global mandate and the priorities of the Generation Equality initiative, this consultancy supports the implementation of activities under the Action Coalition on Technology and Innovation for Gender Equality. Tunisia has also demonstrated its commitment to promoting gender-responsive digital policies and enhancing legal frameworks to address both offline and online gender-based violence (GBV). This includes aligning with international frameworks such as the African Union Convention on Ending Violence Against Women and Girls (AU CEVAWG). The consultancy will contribute to supporting legal advocacy efforts and to advancing Tunisia’s engagement in global partnerships. These efforts align closely with UN Women’s strategic objectives to promote inclusive governance, enhance institutional accountability, and ensure that digital transformation serves as a force for gender equality.
The consultant will be reporting to the program coordinator, and will be supported by the program officer, who will be the point of contact on the contract and payment issues.
