  1. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  2. Performs the professional duties of an internist in adherence to the Delineation of Privileges depending on the efficiency and skills of the particular individual.
  3. Answers in-patient consultations from medical or other in-patient services.
  4. Participates in the reading of EKG’s.  Performs lung function studies and makes interpretations when needed.
  5. Administers Executive Health Program examinations on a regular basis.
  6. Orders diagnostic laboratory and X-ray examinations, determining the diagnosis and prescribing applicable therapy and taking the necessary preventive medicine.
  7. Reviews journals and textbooks in order to keep current on latest techniques, procedures and therapy.
  8. Participates in continuing in-service training programmes, physician’s conferences, etc.
  9. Participates in the monthly staff meeting of the Internal Medicine Service Division.
  10. Responsible for the proper practice of infection control guidelines in all clinical areas.
  11. Keeps current with emergency techniques as they emerge and evolve.
  12. Active participation and sustained qualification in all cardio-pulmonary resuscitation programs.
  13. Attends staff meetings and weekly rounds and participates in in-service activities as required, i.e., Morbidity & Mortality conferences, Peer Reviews, etc.
  14. Evidences dependability in carrying out the commitments and obligations of the position.
  15. Demonstrates the ability to listen to others in promoting effective communication.
  16. Develops thorough understanding of policies and procedures of the hospital and demonstrates respect for them.
  17. Performs other duties as assigned by the Medical Administrator or Medical Director.
  18. To follow appropriate international guidelines, DHA regulations & Joint Commission International norms while treating or managing patients as well as while discharging their professional duties.

  37. QUALIFICATION, LICENSURE, EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, SPECIAL SKILLS
  38. Graduation from an approved medical school plus one year of internship and three years of residency; certification by the American Board of Internal medicine or Member of the Royal College of Physicians (or its equivalent).
  39. At least five (5) years of practice as an internist with two years as a licensed specialist.
  40. Excellent command of oral and written English. Knowledge of Arabic language is desirable but not essential.
  41. Must be highly skilled in the particular field of practice, with mature clinical judgment and ability to provide professional leadership. He / she must have a thorough knowledge of Medical Department policies and procedures with particular reference to the obligation to maintain the confidentiality of his work; personality which inspires confidence and trust in his patients; and adhere to Bylaws, Rules and Regulations of the Medical Organization.
  42. Current licensure in country of origin and with DHA license to practice Internal Medicine in Dubai, UAE.
  43. Communication, interpersonal skills as applied to interaction with co-workers, superiors, patients & families.
