Job Description:

The role is for an individual contributor to join the global voluntary origination team. The position calls for a highly motivated, entrepreneurial individual with strong financing and contracting skills as well as ability to perform well under pressure. The role reports to the Global Team Lead, Voluntary Origination and Deal Structuring.

Job Involves:

• Originating, developing and executing mid to long term (>3 years) supply and offtake transactions for carbon credits for voluntary use.
• Required to be familiar with options and ability to embed optionality in term deals
• Manage and maintain supplier/customer relationships as well as operationalize the term transactions.
• Engage with govt and quasi-government entities/bodies on A6 transactions
• Work with Deal Management Specialists to maintain and monitor and report on the portfolio of executed transactions.
• Interface with other Lines of Businesses and trading desks for x-business collaboration
• Interact with key control functions and TCF teams for execution of structured finance transactions
• Work with voluntary markets optimization/portfolio team to optimize portfolio value

You Will Need:

• 9+ years of experience in an origination role, preferably in illiquid markets
• Experience with origination of term transactions for carbon credits in Asia and EMEA
• Experience with originating and executing transactions within constraints of A6 and CORSIA markets is a big positive.
• Experience with debt financing and structured trade finance in context of supply of carbon credits
• Good knowledge of accounting concepts and their application to in context of structured finance transactions. Ability to engage with TCF colleagues for transaction approvals as well as reporting
• Ability and drive to originate (cold call) and develop new client relationships. Good working knowledge of key counterparties and maintaining relationships
• Willingness to take project concepts through transaction development and execution
• Experience in engaging with industry associations. Experience engaging with IETA is a big plus.
• Strong analytical skills, willingness and ability to operate independently in a developing industry with a constantly evolving regulatory backdrop
• Excellent communication skills to be able to present and communicate complex transaction structures to internal and external stakeholders
• Main challenges:
• Working in a global team you will assist in building a long-term portfolio with embedded options for added value and exits, that also grows with growth of the carbon markets

Familiarity with risks involved in project development and carbon methodologies is essential to be able to lead and complete thorough due diligence processes while evaluating investment opportunities.

Manage portfolio of executed term transactions and trouble shoot / solve problems that arise in operationalizing transactions

Ability to identify, create and execute risk management opportunities (term customer sales) in a relatively illiquid market for voluntary/A6/CORSIA eligible credits.

Develop Strong Working Relationships With:

• Team members across the voluntary origination and markets team
• Deal management specialists
• Associated stakeholders (Global Technical Team, Risk, Finance, TCF, Legal)
• Industry bodies (e.g. IETA, GGGI, Govt agencies dealing with A6)
